Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place submitted through a search tool is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. Loup County Criminal History does not retain or log those entered search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the site may be kept long enough to review and answer it. Messages are not shared beyond the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Routine technical information may be recorded when a visitor loads a page, including:
- The device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Referring website, when one is available
- Date and time associated with each view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files that may be stored on a visitor's device. Together with analytics services, they help measure aggregate traffic, popular pages, and points where visits end. A browser can be configured to reject cookies, although disabling them may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Operate the website and maintain page performance
- Route a submitted search to the relevant partner tool
- Measure which resources visitors use
- Diagnose errors, outages, and security concerns
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Loup County Criminal History does not own, assemble, sell, or maintain a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Loup County Sheriff, Nebraska County Court and District Court, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal-history profiles, and this resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes displayed on some pages. Information entered there is handled under the provider's privacy terms rather than this policy. Those companies decide how long they retain information and whether they share it. Their policy should be reviewed before a query is submitted.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Loup County offices, Nebraska court and agency portals, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's own privacy policy controls that visit. Personal details should be shared only after those terms are reviewed.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select targeted ads. Loup County Criminal History does not operate that cross-site tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Outside search providers that process a submitted query
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and site performance
- Advertising networks that place or select advertisements
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information under the site's control. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, however, so the possibility of unauthorized access or a breach cannot be eliminated.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, a deletion request will be addressed promptly.
Your Data Rights
Nebraska's Public Records Law, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09, governs access to public records held by government bodies. Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-3523 separately limits public dissemination of qualifying criminal-history information. Those statutes do not turn this private resource into a government records custodian or create a general private-site data right. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may still:
- Request a copy of personal information maintained by the site
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Request deletion of personal information
- Ask to opt out of certain processing when that option applies
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised as practices, services, or legal duties change. A revised version will be posted here and identified by an updated effective date.
Effective date: July 31, 2026
