Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of Loup County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its material, or submitting a query through an available tool indicates agreement with these terms. Anyone who does not accept them should stop using the resource. The terms apply to this privately operated website and do not replace rules issued by Loup County, Nebraska courts, or state agencies.

NO FCRA USE. Loup County Criminal History is privately owned and has no affiliation with a local, state, or federal government body. Neither this resource nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant screening, or another purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource helps readers locate criminal-record sources in Loup County, Nebraska. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

Loup County Criminal History is a private reference resource that operates independently from government. It does not keep official criminal records, obtain records for visitors, perform agency background checks, or submit documents on anyone's behalf.

Its content identifies the offices responsible for Loup County material, including the sheriff, Nebraska County Court and District Court, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also provide access to tools operated by third parties.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the resource, a visitor agrees not to:

  • Violate a federal, Nebraska, or local law
  • Use information to threaten, stalk, or harass another person
  • Rely on site content for credit, employment, insurance, or housing decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any account, server, or system
  • Deploy scraping tools, bots, or other automated collection methods
  • Interfere with performance or prevent others from accessing the website

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information reached through this resource may not be used to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct can also violate criminal or civil law. Special care applies to the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Registry information is published to support public safety, not retaliation, vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Loup County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and creates no credit report, background report, or consumer report. Its advertising partners are not presented as services for evaluating an applicant, borrower, insured person, or prospective tenant. A visitor agrees not to use information from this resource or a linked tool to:

  • Make a hiring, firing, or other employment decision
  • Evaluate a rental application or access to housing
  • Assess creditworthiness or determine an insurance premium
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, benefit, or government program
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

A check needed for a regulated purpose must come from an authorized official channel, such as the Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division when appropriate, or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Loup County charge, conviction, warrant, set aside, or restricted record applies to a particular person. Advice about an individual matter should come from a lawyer licensed in Nebraska.

6. No Warranties

All material and functions are supplied "as is." No promise is made that:

  • Information will always be complete, accurate, or current
  • Access will remain uninterrupted
  • Pages will contain no error, defect, or security weakness
  • An outside search provider will return complete or correct results

Criminal records can change as charges are filed, amended, dismissed, restricted, or set aside. Agency hours, fees, and procedures can also change. Site content is not an official statement from the Loup County Sheriff, a Nebraska court, or any state agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may point to government offices, court systems, legal resources, and commercial search tools. Following a link takes the visitor to a service outside this website's control. Loup County Criminal History is not responsible for an external service's availability, content, charges, privacy practices, or terms. Those terms should be reviewed before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise identified, the text, graphics, branding, and code presented here belong to Loup County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be reproduced, altered, distributed, or used to create derivative material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Loup County Criminal History is not liable for harm or damages arising from use of the website, reliance on its information, or use of any linked service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to defend and hold the site operator harmless from a claim, demand, or legal proceeding caused by that visitor's use of the resource or violation of these terms, including related legal costs and fees.

11. Governing Law

Nebraska law governs these terms, and a dispute concerning use of the website must be brought in a court located in Nebraska. Government record access remains subject to the Nebraska Public Records Law, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09. Public dissemination of qualifying criminal-history information is separately limited by Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-3523. Those statutes govern public custodians and dissemination; they do not make this private resource an official records office.

12. Changes to These Terms

These conditions may be revised at any time. A new version becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, with or without advance notice, when the operator chooses to do so.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be limited or revised only to the extent needed for enforcement.
